Qedit’s Visual mode is a powerful but friendly full-screen editor designed specifically for programmers. It gives you full access to the editing capabilities of your terminal in block-mode, with low system overhead. You can move, copy, mark and delete blocks of text with Visual’s cut-and-paste functions, and page backward and forward through your file with function keys. To use Visual mode, you must have an HP terminal or an HP terminal emulator (e.g., Reflection from WRQ).

In Visual mode, you have access to all Line mode commands (including UDCs, command files, compiling, linking and running programs, shell scripts, and string searching and changing). Qedit’s search and replace functions aim to be simple, fast and powerful (e.g., ignore embedded words, etc.). The Undo command allows you to cancel any previous edits to your file, working back to the state at which you started. Using the optional Open and Shut feature, you can switch between files instantly. With the Justify command, the Prose text formatter and the Spell checker, you can format documents such as memos and manuals.

Visual mode is a good introduction to the HP operating systems for users who don’t work on HP computers all day. Those who may particularly benefit are novice users, or users who run Qedit only to update a report skeleton once a week. These occasional users no longer have to memorize editing commands. Visual mode provides a familiar environment where novices can make changes to the entire screen, just as they do on PC editors. You can even configure some electronic mail packages (HPDesk, elm), to put your users directly into Visual mode when they edit a message.

Welcome to the NVIDIA Control Panel, designed for Microsoft Windows Vista, and Windows 7. You can use NVIDIA Control Panel to control your NVIDIA hardware and access other NVIDIA software installed on your system.

Overview

In addition to setting up basic display configurations such as display resolution, refresh rate, and multiple display use, you can:

• Tune your 3D settings with realtime preview to maximize performance or image quality
• Customize how 3D applications work in your system
• Adjust your screen colors and contrast
• Set custom timings
• Control video image settings
• Change your HDTV format
• Control your notebook system power using PowerMizer
• Control special workstation features such as Frame Synchronization.

Feature Differences from the Classic Control Panel

The following are features that were available in the NVIDIA classic control panel, but which are not available in the new NVIDIA Control Panel:

  nView Desktop Manager is available through the Windows control panel as a separate applet (Windows XP only).

  As of driver Release 173, MultiView is available from the Windows Display Properties->Settings->Advanced tab for Windows XP only.

Changes in Release 270

  This is an optional feature that you have the opportunity to install or not install when installing the Release 270 or later driver.

Switching your device

When you are switching to a new device, it’s easy to move your old device’s contents, like all your contacts and messages, to the new one. Just back up the old device’s contents, then restore them to the new one with Nokia Ovi Suite’s backup and restore wizards. To find out more, see Backup and restore overview.

Nokia PC Suite is compatible with most Nokia devices. You can view all the supported models on the Nokia PC Suite web site.

Nokia PC Suite is currently available for Microsoft Windows. For a list of supported operating systems, see requirements on the Nokia PC Suite web site.

To create a connection between your device and your PC, you need a data cable, an infrared port, or Bluetooth connection on both the PC and the device. You also need the Nokia PC Suite installation package. You may have it on a CD-ROM or a DVD, or you can download it for free from the Nokia PC Suite web site. Some Nokia PC Suite applications manage data between your device and PC programs such as Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes.

You can select the area of image where the scanned data will appear, set the image type and resolution. You can also set the scanned document to be automatically recognized using OCR software.

ScanThru functions: scanning images or documents, previewing and/or applying filters to them and sending them to a graphics-editing application.

The following are the main ScanThru features:

• Customizing scan settings, which includes selecting the image type, resolution, document source, and setting page format to scan the image
• Applying visual effects to image, adjusting brightness, contrast and color gamma, or applying color inversion to it
• Applying sharpening or blurring filters to the image
• Scanning image or document at lower scan resolution, previewing scan result, selecting the area to be scanned and adjusting the image view
• Scanning image using the scan settings you specified
• Reusing the settings you have have adjusted in future scanning jobs.

A simplified interface design provides easier access to playback controls, features, and options.

WinDVD lets you resize the user interface manually so you can discreetly play your favorite movies on top of other applications running in the background.
